Deryk was very impressive at the Rubio Long Snapping Spring Camp in Arizona on March 31, 2019. Deryk throws the ball with some real zip. He earned himself a spot as one of 2 finalists in the speed competition and could have won it if one of his better times came on the right snap. He is absolutely textbook in his pre snap setup. Extremely flat back, great weight distribution and nice extension with the ball. He also demonstrates great form throughout his snap. He is a perfect example that posture and form DO translate to speed. I would love to see Deryk snap a tight spiral with a bit more consistency and eliminate his tendency to miss low. If he can focus in on every snap and remind himself to finish, this can be a very easy fix. Once that happens, I look forward to Deryk becoming an elite snapper. He should be fun to watch develop at his upcoming Rubio Long Snapping events.
