Player Review
Andrew showed a lot of great things at the Rubio Long Snapping Spring Camp in Arizona on March 31, 2019. Andrew is very raw and possesses a ton of potential. When he throws the ball hard, he hits his spots with solid consistency. He has a really nice follow through and does a good job of getting deep. The one thing that Andrew is lacking right now is speed. I would like to see Andrew overcome this by incorporating more elbow drive into his snap and continuing to strive to snap every ball with pure power. It also may help if he can create a little bit more extension with the ball out in front of him. This will allow him to create more leverage. I am confident Andrew will continue to improve because of his extremely coachable attitude. I can’t wait to see Andrew’s improvement at his next Rubio Long Snapping event.
Thompson showed me some good things at the Rubio Long Snapping Spring Camp in CA on March 3, 2019. Long Snapper with a good frame and that is very coachable. He has good balance and very solid staring form. He has all the tools to do really well. For right now, I would like to see Thompson focus on slow motion drills to get his strong lower half fully involved in the process. Working on his snapping motion is going to be the key for greatness for Thompson. Snapping only about ten yards and gaining confidence will be big for Thompson. Lots of upside and I am excited to see him at VEGAS XXXIV in May.
