    Player Review

Townsend did really well at the VEGAS XXXIII Event on January 19-20, 2019. He has a nice frame and moves with a purpose on his feet. Light when he is moving around through the agility sections of the camp. Townsend's attitude is great and he is going to make his college coach very happy. His hands are quick and I am big fan of his balance. Widening out just a tad and following all the way through will increase his overall speed and accuracy. Always improving and snaps well under pressure. Great kid.

Townsend was solid at the Rubio Long Snapping Fall Camp in TX on November 18th, 2018. Thick and strong Long Snapper with good starting form that has some very quick hands. Love how well the ball jumps out of the gate when Townsend snaps to a punter. His snap speeds can vary between mid .7s to mid .8s. Consistency of his snapping motion along with his release point will greatly help with his accuracy. Locking down his spiral and release point are going to be the keys to Townsend and his greatness. Massive fan of his attitude and upside. Keep a very close eye on Townsend at VEGAS XXXIII. He is right on the cusp of getting “it.”

Townsend did well during the 2018 Rubio Long Snapping Summer Tour. He is a strong Long Snapper with a very powerful frame. Starting form is good and he is using his whole body pretty darn well. Need to see Townsend focus on leaning back a bit more so he is not falling forward. Also, making sure he is not winding up prior to the snap and have a slight knee hitch, will really help out with overall quickness and to get his ball under .80 for a 15 yard snap. He is using body well and he needs to trust his form to get his snap speeds increased. With his overall size, he could easily snap a college level ball by VEGAS XXXIII in January. Following all the way through with his fingers will increase his accuracy. It sounds like a lot but I am telling you, Townsend can do this at the next level with some minor adjustments. Great attitude. Big jump in the rankings and well deserved.

Townsend showed me some good things at VEGAS XXXII in May. Strong Long Snapper that is built well and has a great frame. Townsend has a ton of power throughout his body and I want to make sure he is using it all on each and every snap. Slow motion drills will help a ton to increase the overall use of his strong body. His hands are quick and I need to see his legs be just as quick to gain max speed on the ball. Lay down drills to lock down his spiral is going to be massive in moving up the rankings for Townsend. Tons and tons of potential.
