    Player Review

Sims had a solid showing in his online virtual ranking film. He is a very smooth Long Snapper with a ball that is super easy to catch. Spiral is tight and the ball will stick to the punter's hands. Love to see Sims focus on lowering his butt just a tad on short snaps so he is not so straight-legged. Also, not dipping his butt prior to the snap will be huge for Sims. Super easy fixes that will help a ton in the long run. Right on the cusp of greatness. Hard working Long Snapper

Whatley showed me some good things at the Rubio Long Snapping Spring Camp in GA on March 9th, 2020. Starting form is very solid and he dives through to the punter like an absolute champion. Practically hands the ball to the punter. Flexibility is off the charts. Getting his lower half to be as involved in the process as the upper half will drastically increase the overall speed of the ball. Slow motion drills will help a ton to get his timing locked  down so everything is synced up. Massive potential.

Whatley did well at the Rubio Long Snapping Fall Camp in GA on November 24th, 2019. I absolutely love how aggressive Sims is with his upper body. He drives his chest and head through like a champ and almost looks like he is going to break in half since he is so violent with his movements. Speeding up his lower half to be in sync with his upper half will definitely get his speeds in the .8s at VEGAS XXXV in January. Really improving well and I like his attitude.

Whatley showed me some good things at the Rubio Long Snapping NC Fall Camp on October 6th, 2019. He has a nice, athletic frame and can move well on his feet. Starting form is excellent and he might have the best follow through in his class. Whatley practically dives through all the way to the punter and I love it. Increasing the use of his lower half will really get his speed up on the ball. Always improving and he is dripping with potential.

Whatley came out from SC and did well at the Rubio Long Snapping NC Spring Camp on March 10th, 2019. His follow through is off the charts as Whatley practically hands the ball to the punter. His eyes/head are fantastic as they drive back to the punter in one, quick motion. Upper body is fantastic. Working on slow motion drills will help a ton in getting his lower half to match up with his upper half. His legs are almost locked at the right time and will drastically increase the overall speed of the ball when they are timed up with his upper half. Great attitude and always improving.

Sims did really well at the Rubio Long Snapping Fall Camp in GA on December 2, 2018. Just saw him about a month ago and he has improved since then. Coachable Long Snapper with a good attitude that listens well. Accurate Long Snapper that has good consistency.  Legs are getting involved well now and he isn't dragging the ball as much. Not winding up (no knee hitch) at the first motion of his snap will help with even more accuracy and speed. Quickness will be the key to Sims' greatness.

Sims was solid at the Rubio Long Snapping Fall Camp in NC on October 7th, 2018. His follow through is excellent as he practically hand sthe ball to the punter. Smooth Long Snapper that gets his eyes/head through really well. If he can not drag the ball back to the punter and get his lower half more invovled, he will easily get his snap speeds under .80 by VEGAS XXXIII in January. Starting form is outstanding. The upside on Sims is very, very good.

Sims did well during the 2018 Rubio Long Snapping Summer Tour. He is already using his lower half very well. Great pop that impressed me throughout my time watching him this summer. Like to see Sims widen out just a tad to allow his upper body get through to the punter. If he can drive his chest back and get his eyes/head through so he can watch the ball release from his hands, he will easily increase his accuracy and push his RSI way up. Eyes/head are the key thing for Sims. Easy fix that will garnish massive results during the fall camps and at VEGAS XXXIII in January.
