Thompson was solid at the Rubio Long Snapping Fall Camp in TX on November 18th, 2018. He is a very athletic Long Snapper that can pass an eyeball test quickly. Built really well. Starting form is gorgeous and he has good balance. His pop is solid and he is consistent. Making sure he is leading with his elbows and not so stiff will make Thompson easily snap in the .7s. I am telling you, Thompson is right on the cusp of making it all halting. Timing of his legs locking and the ball being hear his shins is just about there and I can’t wait to see when it happens because with his frame and form, once the timing is there, it is over for the rest of his class. Great upside. Watch this kid at VEGAS XXXIII in January.
Thompson showed me some good things at the Rubio Long Snapping VEGAS XXXI Event on January 12-14, 2018. Frame is excellent and he moves really well on his feet. Definitely an athlete that will be a factor on the punt coverage team in college. Really good potential on his athleticism alone. Starting form is good and he is coming along well with his pop from his lower half. Like to see Thompson widen out just a tad more so he can allow his upper body to get through more for better accuracy and to push his RSI up a bit. Making sure both of his hands get through equally will help his accuracy as well. Thompson is right on the cusp of making it all happen and is definitely someone to watch. Big jump in the rankings and well deserved. I got a feeling about him....just wait.
