    Player Review

Zane did very well throughout the summer in GA and at the TOP 12 Camp in CA. First, let's talk about GA where McCracken ended up winning the whole camp with great accuracy and consistency. It was a great win for him as he struggled just a tad but caught his groove right during the competition and left no doubt he is one of the top Long Snappers in the country. Ball was flying out of his hands and his follow through was excellent. When McCracken drives his upper body through and straight back instead of up and then back, he never misses. Great attitude and is always improving.

McCracken was outstanding at the VEGAS XXXII Event in May of 2018. He did so well that he earned himself a TOP 12 Camp invite and there was doubt about it. Moved extremely well on his feet during the agility section and you can definitely tell he is a pure athlete on the field. His movements are smooth and he makes it all look effortless. McCracken snaps like a champion under pressure. Ball is accurate. Time for McCracken to win a camp and dominate from start to finish. Can’t wait to see him this summer.

McCracken was really impressive at the Rubio Long Snapping spring camp in GA on April 22, 2018. First off, McCracken’s whole body is thickening up very well. His neck looks like it has grown four inches in the past year! Form is good and I don’t think he snapped a ball above a .77 all day long. The harder he snaps the ball and the more he follows through with his fingers (to lock down his release point), the better he does. Easily, and I mean easily, could be one the top Long Snappers in his class. Kid is a stud.

McCracken was impressive at the Rubio Long Snapping Spring Camp in NC on March 11, 2018. Very athletic Long Snapper that is growing by the second. He looked to be getting bigger from the start of the camp to the end. Form is excellent and he is easily hovering sub .78 on a consistent basis. The more McCracken drives his upper body through (especially his eyes), the better he does and the more accuracy he has on his ball. McCracken is very good and headed towards great. Time for me to see him lock down a finals spots and win a camp. He can do it and I know that confidence is going to play a major part in his progression. Kid is a stud and will continue to be one for a long time.

McCracken had waves of brilliance at the Rubio Long Snapping VEGAS XXXI Event on January 12-14, 2018. He is a tremendous athlete and is beyond smooth on his feet. Made the agility drills looks effortless and like he wasn’t even trying when, in fact, he was crushing it. When McCracken’s timing is locked down and everything (his whole body) is moving as one, he is absolutely tremendous. Getting back to basics and working some slow motion drills will help to get his eyes through more and his timing perfected. When it all clicks for McCracken, he snaps an easy college ball. Very close to greatness and the TOP 12 camp.

Zane was solid at the Rubio Long Snapping Fall Camp in GA on December 3rd, 2017. Athletic Long Snapper with impeccable form that can get the ball back to the punter in the high .7s when he is on. Form is exquisite and Zane can handle pressure really well. He has grown a great deal in the past year and I like the direction he is headed. Biggest thing Zane needs to focus on is making sure he is getting his eyes/head through, with great quickness, to increase his overall accuracy and speed to get to the next level. Pushing the ball out a bit at the start of the snapping motion will help with accuracy and speed. Zane is so darn good and just going to keep getting better and better. Watch him dominate at VEGAS XXXI.

All Long Snappers were tested on The Rubio Target. Each Long Snapper was tested on 12 punt snaps where they had three normal snaps, three blocking left, three blocking right, three speed punt snaps (running in from the side and have three seconds to get the ball off once their feet are set) and 12 pat snaps where they had three normal snaps, three blocking left, three blocking right, three speed punt snaps (running in from the side and have three seconds to get the ball off once their feet are set). Once the Long Snapper has completed the test, they earn an RSI which is the fairest and most accurate way to judge a Long Snapper by numbers.
