Player Review

Benton showed me great things at the Rubio Long Snapping Spring Camp in GA on April 28, 2019. He was only at the camp for half the day but he showed me enough to prove to me that he is one of the top Long Snappers in his class. His hands are absolute rockets and the ball jumps out of the gate extremely well. Smooth Long Snapper with a catchable ball for the punter. Locking down his spiral will make the ball even quicker. Also, getting his legs timed up with his upper half will be huge for Benton’s progression to college. His hands are so darn quick that his ball will be off the charts if his legs can time up their lock right when the snap is at his shins. He is going to do very, very well in college. 

Benton was very impressive  at the Rubio Long Snapping VEGAS XXXIII Event on January 19-20, 2019. Extremely smooth Long Snapper that snaps a good ball and moves well on his feet as well. Whatever Benton does on the field, is smooth and easy to watch. Ball is accurate and he is really coming along nicely. I watched Benton a lot in Vegas and he never let me down. The more size he puts on and the more he drives his elbows, the better he does. Keep a very, very close eye on Benton. 

Will Benton was very solid at the Rubio Long Snapping Fall Camp in GA on December 2, 2018. He has a great, long frame and his college strength coach is going to love the possibilities of his body. Benton can easily hover in the high .7s and will be even faster at VEGAS XXXIII in January if he makes sure he is not dragging the ball and locks down his spiral. Big fan of Benton and he could easily pick up a TOP 12 invite in Vegas.

Benton did really well at the Rubio Long Snapping Fall Camp in NC on October 7th, 2018. He is an athletic Long Snapper with a great frame that will be able to put on some good weight over the next couple of years. Doesn't need much as he can already pass an eyeball test from a college coach. Starting form is good and he reaches back really well to the punter and/or holder. Looks like he is practically trying to hand the ball to them and I love it. Smooth Long Snapper that easily can do this at the next level. Getting his legs fully involved will increase the overall speed of the ball and make him an easy D1 recruit. I am telling you right now, keep a very close eye on Benton. He really impressed me in NC and could easily get a TOP 12 camp invite at VEGAS XXXIII in January. 

Will Benton was impressive at the Rubio Long Snapping spring camp in GA on April 22, 2018. Athletic Long Snapper that moves well on his feet. Benton was able to get deep into the speed finals with times well under .82. Handled pressure well. Consistency of speed is going to be the key for Benton and he will get it once his timing is locked down and he gets his lower half sped up just a tad more with eyes really driving through to the punter. When Benton is on, he is VERY on. Great upside on Benton.

RSI (Rubio Standard Index) is a scoring process developed by Rubio Long Snapping that weighs the average speed of the snap along with points for accuracy on the Rubio Target. Bonus points are awarded for a superior range of snap times.
