    Player Review

Bastuga was excellent at the Rubio Long Snapping VEGAS XXXIII Event on January 19-20, 2019. Easily has one of the best attitudes of any Long Snapper in the country and I am not just talking about from his own class. He is ALWAYS smiling and just putting out a good vibe around him. Form is smooth and he is using all of his body well and he is maturing like a champ. Getting stronger and more athletic by the second. Ball is accurate and easy to catch. Improving his overall athleticism will continue to push him up the rankings.

Bastuga impressed me at the Rubio Long Snapping Midwest Fall Camp on December 9th, 2018. He has a tremendous personality and is always smiling. Type of kid that can be a leader on and off the field. Form is good and he is able to use his whole body well. The lower he gets his butt down so that his back is parallel to the ground, the faster his ball will be to the punter. He is using thick legs well and the more he bends them pre-snap, the more power he will get on it. Increasing his overall strength and athleticism will help push him up even farther as well. Hovers in the mid .8s and is, easily, one of the most consistent Long Snappers in his class. Wouldn’t surprise me to see him with the TOP 20 RSI’s at VEGAS XXXIIII in January.

Bastuga showed me some good things at the Rubio Long Snapping Spring Camp in IL on April 7th, 2018. Body is maturing and, as always, his form is very solid. Smooth Long Snapper with one of the most consistent snaps in his class. He is like a machine on the field. Like to see Bastuga focus on increasing his overall athleticism and making sure he is getting butt down so that is back is parallel to the ground. Getting his back will increase his overall speed as it will allow him to get his large, powerful lower half fully involved in the process. Tremendous attitude and extremely coachable.

Bastuga did very welll at the Rubio Long Snapping VEGAS XXXI Event on January 12-14, 2018. First off, Bastuga has one of the best attitudes of any Long Snapper in his class. Type of kid that is going to be a success no matter what he chooses to do. Starting form is good and he is starting to use his whole body well. Like to see Bastuga focus on increasing his overall athleticism and make sure he is really driving his eyes/head through to the punter. Not popping up and getting back to his target willl greatly increase his speed to get him consistently in the .8s if not quicker. LIght feet will push him well up the rankings.

Bastuga had a good day at the Rubio Long Snapping Fall Camp in OH on December 17, 2017. Tremendous attitude and a very smart Long Snapper. His form is good and he is using his whole body really well. The more Bastuga can focus on driving all the way through so his body is not popping up, the more speed and accuracy he will have in the long run. Love to see Bastuga get ready of any wasted movement within his snapping motion to increase his accuracy. Overall power will come with more size and strength. Form is good and atittude is even better. Great kid.

Bastuga was solid at the Rubio Long Snapping Summer Camp in IL on July 13, 2017 and at the Underclassmen Invitational in Tampa, FL. His starting form is very good and he has nice, smooth snapping motion. Bastuga might have the best attitude in the country....regardless of graduating class. All the greatness of his snapping will come to fruitiion for Bastuga as he continues to mature and gain strength. That is going to play a big roll in overall speed of the ball and his athleticism. Making sure he is driving his upper body through and not bouncing up will also increase his speed. Great accuracy and consistency.
