Player Review
Ortega showed me some good things at the Rubio Long Snapping Fall Camp in TX on November 12, 2017. Athletic Long Snapper that is built strong and has good starting form. His leg pop is solid and he can get the ball back to the punter with some good mph's on it. Love to see Ortega focus on just using his lower half to gain more speed on the ball. As of right now, Ortega tends to lift the ball up (hitch) right when he starts the snapping motion in order to gain speed. Also, he can tend to have a slight knee hitch (knees move right as he starts the snapping motion). Both of these things will start the clock/start the defender moving. Two easy fixes that will greatly increase his ranking and speed on the ball. Good attitude with solid upside.
Accomplishments
RSI (Rubio Standard Index) is a scoring process developed by Rubio Long Snapping that weighs the average speed of the snap along with points for accuracy on the Rubio Target. Bonus points are awarded for a superior range of snap times.
