Player Review
Shirley showed me some good things at the Rubio Long Snapping spring camp in NC on March 12, 2017. His form is good and he has very good potential. Locking down his spiral will be a major key in speeding up the ball and making it more catchable for the punter. Lay down drills and Snapping with fingers instead of palms will be key.Ben did well at the Rubio Long Snapping VEGAS XXIX Event on January 14-15, 2017. He has a tremendous frame and can easily pass an eyeball test. Love to see him lower his butt a tad before he snaps and make sure he is always getting set. Ben's hands are quick and he has good upside. Focusing on athleticism and making sure he is snapping with full power at all times will really push his speed up and get him well under .75 consistently. Potential is solid and he has the ability to snap in college. Another big jump in the rankings for Shirley and well deserved after what I saw of him at the Rubio Long Snapping fall camp in GA on December 18th, 2016. He has a great frame and is snapping with a lot of power. The upside on this kid is off the charts. Love how much power he snaps with when he just lets the ball fly out of his hands. Making sure he is leaning back and snapping with full confidence will push him CONSISTENTLY under .75 at VEGAS XXIX and move him way up. He is the type of Long Snapper that could dominate under pressure in VEGAS and walk out with a 5 Star Rating.
