Player Review

Lawless did really well at VEGAS XXIX on January 14-15, 2017. He is a true athlete that left no doubt he can move during the agility section of the weekend. Ball is consistent and he has good accuracy. Love to see him lock down his spiral and work on getting his head up a bit quicker after the snap. Snapping and then moving will be his big advantage so he needs to make sure he gets up quicker to get out of the gate right off the bat. Lawless works his tail off and is perfect for the Army. Really respectful young man with a bright future in what ever he chooses to do.

Lawless had a great early October fall camp in Florida. He is very long and athletic and snapped well all day. Some small tweaks in his stance by dropping his hips a little will help his ball from rising up. Great kid and attitude who is very close to being great. Relaxing and letting his body do all of the work. CONFIDENCE will be huge with him at VEGAS XXIX. No need to think at all for Lawless.

Lawless did well at the TOP 12 & EVENT ELITE Camp at the IMG Academy in FL. He has a great frame and snaps one of the smoothest balls in the country. Lawless has very good accuracy and consistency. I would love to see him focus on gaining CONFIDENCE in his snapping ability since he is so good and just let the ball fly out of his hands. With confidence and trust, he will easily get the ball under .7 and move him way up the ladder. Potential is huge for Lawless and I love his attitude. College coaches are going to love him and his work ethic.

All Long Snappers were tested on The Rubio Target. Each Long Snapper was tested on 12 punt snaps where they had three normal snaps, three blocking left, three blocking right, three speed punt snaps (running in from the side and have three seconds to get the ball off once their feet are set) and 12 pat snaps where they had three normal snaps, three blocking left, three blocking right, three speed punt snaps (running in from the side and have three seconds to get the ball off once their feet are set). Once the Long Snapper has completed the test, they earn an RSI which is the fairest and most accurate way to judge a Long Snapper by numbers. Please note: the RSI does not account for athleticism, spiral or mentality.

RSI (Rubio Standard Index): The RSI is the score divided by the average speed on The Rubio Target. You may obtain 2 bonus points for an average of .75-.79, 2 more bonus points for an average of .70-.74 and an additional 2 more bonus points if you average below .70.
