Player Review
Fontana showed me some good things at the FBU TOP GUN Camp on 7/17 in South Carolina. He is a thick Long Snapper with very good power throughout his body. His overall form is good and shows solid potential. Love to see Fontana focus on slow motion drills to ensure he gets his lower half fully involved to gain more speed on the ball. Fontana can easily get in the ball to the low .8s but with his size and strength, I know he can be in the low .7s by VEGAS XXXI in January.
Accomplishments
VEGAS XXIX Average 15 Yard Snap Speed: .78 VEGAS XXIX 40 Time: 5.96 VEGAS XXIX RSI (Rubio Standard Index) from the Rubio Target: 23.38 All Long Snappers were tested on The Rubio Target. Each Long Snapper was tested on 12 punt snaps where they had three normal snaps, three blocking left, three blocking right, three speed punt snaps (running in from the side and have three seconds to get the ball off once their feet are set) and 12 pat snaps where they had three normal snaps, three blocking left, three blocking right, three speed punt snaps (running in from the side and have three seconds to get the ball off once their feet are set). Once the Long Snapper has completed the test, they earn an RSI which is the fairest and most accurate way to judge a Long Snapper by numbers. Please note: the RSI does not account for athleticism, spiral or mentality. RSI (Rubio Standard Index): The RSI is the score divided by the average speed on The Rubio Target. You may obtain 2 bonus points for an average of .75-.79, 2 more bonus points for an average of .70-.74 and an additional 2 more bonus points if you average below .70.
