Player Review

Appio had a good weekend at VEGAS XXIX on January 14-15, 2017. Body is getting stronger and he is snapping with more power each time I see him. Form is solid and he has solid accuracy. Love to see him work on leading with his elbows to gain more whip and even more speed on the ball. Appio is a true student of Long Snapping and is always working to get better. He will be a true asset in the locker room and on the field for a college coach.

Appio looked excellent at the Rubio Long Snapping fall camp in IL on September 25, 2016. CONFIDENCE is through the roof and he was snapping some absolute heat all day. He definitely had some of the fastest times throughout the day with snaps consistently in the .7s and even some dipping into the high .6s. Love to see him focus on putting on some size and making sure he gets back up quicker for blocking purposes. Ball is really crisp and pops to the punter. An extra ten to 15 lbs will do wonders for him and stopping a defender coming through the A gap. Easily could be a 5 Star Rubio Long Snapper by the end of Sunday night at VEGAS XXIX.

All Long Snappers were tested on The Rubio Target. Each Long Snapper was tested on 12 punt snaps where they had three normal snaps, three blocking left, three blocking right, three speed punt snaps (running in from the side and have three seconds to get the ball off once their feet are set) and 12 pat snaps where they had three normal snaps, three blocking left, three blocking right, three speed punt snaps (running in from the side and have three seconds to get the ball off once their feet are set). Once the Long Snapper has completed the test, they earn an RSI which is the fairest and most accurate way to judge a Long Snapper by numbers. Please note: the RSI does not account for athleticism, spiral or mentality.

RSI (Rubio Standard Index): The RSI is the score divided by the average speed on The Rubio Target. You may obtain 2 bonus points for an average of .75-.79, 2 more bonus points for an average of .70-.74 and an additional 2 more bonus points if you average below .70.
