Player Review

Varnell showed me some good things at the Rubio Long Snapping summer camp in GA. Love his attitude and how he handles pressure. Great frame and will be able to put on some more weight while in college. Needs to move the ball out just a tad to ensure he can create more whip on the ball. Also, not overgripping the ball will create more of a consistent spiral. VERY big upside and he moves well on his feet.

Varnell did well at the Rubio Long Snapping spring camp in GA. He is a VERY long athlete that passes an eyeball test quickly on height alone. Love to see him bring the ball in a bit more and make sure he is able to get the ball out quicker. Bringing in the ball will help out a very good amount. Smoothing out everything will make him one of the most dominant Long Snappers in college over the next four years.

Varnell had a VERY good weekend at VEGAS XXV. The kid passes an eyeball test very quickly when he is standing and, even more so, when he is moving. He absolutely destroyed the agility and tackling station on Sunday of VEGAS XXV. One of the most pure athletes at the event. His snapping continues to improve and he still is oozing with potential. Snaps a good, crisp ball and will be unstoppable once his overall form is smoothed and there is no wasted movement. Always smiling.
