Player Review
John Hicks did really well at the Rubio Long Snapping VEGAS XLI Event on January 14-15, 2023! Strong Long Snapper that can easily pass an eyeball test from a college coach. Moves well on his feet and there is no doubt that Hicks will be a factor on the punt coverage team. Moves with a purpose and is aggressive. As stated, he is built well and the more he knows that and the more he uses that, the more he will dominate his class. If Hicks can drive his eyes all the way through to the punter, he will drastically increase his overall accuracy and speed. I am telling you, watch this kid because he has a ton of upside and can dominate at the next level.
John Hicks was solid at the Rubio Long Snapping Fall Camp in North Carolina on November 13th, 2022. He is a thick and powerful Long Snapper with excellent starting form. Hicks’ hands are very quick and it could be hard to time him (which is a good thing). When Hicks is on, he is very on and can easily snap a college level ball. Locking down his spiral and getting his lower half fully involved will greatly increase his overall accuracy and speed. Easy fixes that slow motion drills will help out a ton with for Hicks. He is right on the cusp of greatness and you definitely want to keep an eye on Hicks at VEGAS XLI in January and beyond
