Player Review
Mendoza did well at the Rubio Long Snapping Summer Camp in TX on June 29th. He has an excellent attitude and was one of the hardest workers at the camp. Starting form is excellent and he is able to use his whole body very well. Snapped well under pressure and was able to get downfield really well. Easily can be a factor on the punt coverage team. I would like to see Mendoza focus on getting his eyes/head all the way through in one quick instance. If he can do that, it will drastically increase his overall speed and accuracy. Great potential and he did well in TX.
Mendoza had a good day at the Rubio Long Snapping Spring Camp in TX on April 7th, 2019. He has a very good attitude and was coachable. His starting form is excellent and Mendoza is able to get some great pop on the ball. Love how well he is locking his legs and the explosion he gets from his lower half. Need to see Mendoza focus on really driving his eyes through (slow motion drills where his butt is facing a mirror will help) and not hitching the ball prior to the snap. Getting his eyes through will be huge for his accuracy and speed. Ball won’t die at all along the way since his hands are so strong. He is strong enough to get his snap speeds at the college level but with the hitch the times are charting slower. Quick fixes will pay off a ton in the long run for Mendoza.
