    Player Review

McLaughlin was impressive at the Rubio Long Snapping Fall Camp in NC on October 7th, 2018. He has a great frame and is super strong throughout his whole body. Starting form is excellent and he is using all of his strong lower half really well. Need to see McLaughlin focus on getting his eyes/head through. When he does that, he is easily on par with the top Long Snappers in his class. He has all of the tools to be one of the best in his class and can easily put himself in a chance to earn a TOP 12 spot at VEGAS XXXIII in January.

McLaughlin did really well during the 2018 Rubio Long Snapping Summer Tour. Very thick and strong Long Snapper with excellent power in his body and his snaps. He can easily hit in the .7s already so he is at college speed levels right now. Moves very well on his feet and he is snapping with confidence right now. LOVE THAT in a Long Snapper. His pop is good and he is using his whole body very well right now. Need to see McLaughlin really focus on getting his eyes/head through in one quick motion to increase his overall accuracy. By watching the ball release and locking down his release point, his accuracy will be on the college level and his RSI will easily be in the 30s this fall and at VEGAS XXXIII in January. TOP 12????

McLaughlin showed me some great things at the VEGAS XXXII Event in May of 2018. Big and strong Long Snapper that snaps a very powerful ball that can rip through the punter. As big as he is, McLaughlin moves really well on his feet and left no doubt he is an athlete while going through the agility section of the camp. Need to see him focus heavily on getting his eyes through with each snap. Right now, his eyes/head are getting through but just after the ball so it is playing with the accuracy. Getting his eyes through as quick as the ball, if not quicker, will be an absolute game changer for McLaughlin. Kid is good and headed towards greatness. Easily can snap at the next level if he continues on this path.

McLaughlin did well at the Rubio Long Snapping Spring Camp in NC on March 11, 2018. He is a very strong Long Snapper with excellent form and a thick body. Looks like a varsity fullback. Snaps with good power and has very good balance. Snapping with confidence is going to be huge for McLaughlin. He has all the tools to be one of the greats. Eliminating his slight hitch will easily get his snap speeds in the .7s by VEGAS XXXII in May. He is built so well that he doesn’t need to hitch at all. This kid is going to be excellent. Pumped to watch him over the next couple of years.

Alex did well at the Rubio Long Snapping Fall Camp in NC on November 19th, 2017. Strong Long Snapper with good starting form that can really get some good pop on the ball. Need to see Alex focus on locking down his spiral (lay down drills will help) to make the ball easier to catch. Ball moves quickly and the tighter the spiral, the faster it will be and the easier it will be to catch for the punter. Also, getting his eyes/head through in one quick motion will help with speed and accuracy to increase his overall RSI. Pretty impressed with Alex right off the bat. He is strong and he has some very solid potential. He is definitely one to watch at VEGAS XXXI.
