    Player Review

Doughty came down from MA and was impressive at the Rubio Long Snapping Fall Camp in NC on October 6th, 2019. He has a great attitude, frame and his hands are rockets. The ball flat out jumps out of the gate. His hands are so quick that Doughty can almost be hard to time….which is a good thing! Form is solid and he is able to use his whole body really well. Locking down his spiral is the main key to Doughty’s greatness. Not over-gripping the ball and really making sure he is snapping with his fingers will help a ton. Massive upside on Doughty and I am excited to see him at VEGAS XXXV in January.

Doughty did well during the Rubio Long Snapping 2019 Summer Tour. He is a very big and strong Long Snapper who displays great form and accuracy. He has shown improvement with a more consistent spiral, which is something he has focused on over the past few camps. This tighter spiral is the key to his greatness and will make his ball more catchable and help his ball cut through the air, leading to faster times. Has all the tools and upside to compete with the best in his class. The fall and spring on his senior year will be very important for him, and I can’t wait to see him this fall and at VEGAS XXXV in January. Really impressive summer for Doughty. Keep a very close eye on him.

Doughty had another strong showing at the NJ Summer Regional camp on July 21, 2019. He is a very big and strong snapper who displays great form and accuracy. He has shown improvement with a more consistent spiral, which is something he has focused on over the past few camps. This tighter spiral will make his ball more catchable and help his ball cut through the air, leading to faster times. Has all the tools and upside to compete with the best in his class. The fall and spring on his senior year will be very important for him, and I know he has the desire and focus to take on the road ahead!

Doughty brought his strong frame and did well at the Rubio Long Snapping Spring Camp in GA on April 28, 2019. He has a great attitude and is built with tons power. His overall snapping motion is excellent and he is able to use his whole body like a champ. Thick Long Snapper with good power. The biggest thing Doughty needs to work on right now is his spiral. If he can lock down his spiral, the ball will easily be under .75 with ease. Also, the ball will be easier to catch for the punter. Lay down drills will help with the spiral as well as not ovvrgripping the ball too tight. When it clicks for Doughty, he is going to be one of those Long Snappers that jumps an immense amount of spots in the rankings.

Doughty had a strong showing at the Rubio Long Snapping regional camp in NJ on March 24, 2019. A very athletic and well built long snappers with exceptional form. The one area he seemed to be struggling with was his spiral as he couldn't get consistently clean releases throughout the day. I think once he is able to clear that hurdle, he will be able to relax and snap the ball as hard as his body will let him, adding more speed. His accuracy is great, and once he can get those other two areas to fall in line he will be great.

Doughty came out from MA and was impressive at the Rubio Long Snapping NC Spring Camp on March 10th, 2019. Strong Long Snapper with a solid frame. His hands are very quick. Ball is powerful and can punish the punter. He is using his legs really well and his pop is off the charts. Locking down his spiral is going to be the key to greatness for Doughty. Lay down drills will be massive for him. If he can lock down his spiral by VEGAS XXXIV in May, he will easily be one of the top Long Snappers in his class. Ball is quick, powerful and, with a spiral, he will dominate.

Sam was solid at the Rubio Long Snapping VEGAS XXXIII Event on January 19-20, 2019. He is a very thick and strong Long Snapper that has great power throughout his body. Starting form is good and he is able to rip the ball back to the punter well. Moves well through agility drills when he is going side to side and can accelarate well. Love when Sam drives his elbows and lets the ball fly out of his hands. He is good and headed towards great. He can do this at the next level. Really impressive performance in Vegas. Big jump in the rankings and well deserved.
