Player Review
Beattie was great at the Rubio Long Snapping Midwest Fall Camp on December 9th, 2018. He has some of the quickest hands in his class as the ball just jumps right out of the gate. Beattie is always one that is hard to time since he is just so darn quick. Form is good and he has done an excellent job of locking down his spiral. The ball slices through the wind very easily and is easy to catch which can be tricky sometimes with a lefty. Attitude is great and he is a hardworker. The more size he puts on over the next couple of years, the better Beattie will do at Miami of Ohio. His ball easily hovers in the mid .7s and can dip into the low .7s when he really lets the ball fly out of his hands. Love his attitude.
Beattie did very well at the TOP 12 Camp this summer. Balance is solid and he moves well on his feet. Definitely can be a factor on the punt coverage team in college. Smooth and accurate Long Snapper. Ball can pop out of the gate well. Like to see Beattie get his arms a bit more extended and lead with his elbows more to create additional whip which will increase his overall speed. Beattie is the type of Long Snapper that can get hot and stay hot. Getting hotter, sooner, will be the big thing for him. Kid works his tail off and is ALWAYS improving. He has the ability to do very well in college.
Beattie was solid at the Rubio Long Snapping VEGAS XXXI Event on January 12-14, 2018. He moved well on his feet going forward and will be better going side to side if he can lower his hips a bit. Really fast runner going straight ahead. I mean really, really quick. Accuracy is solid as shown on the RSI score from the weekend. Love his overall attitude. Like to see Beattie focus on getting both hands through each time to increase the spiral and make sure his ball doesn't tail to the punter's left. Putting on some size will help as well. Great potential.
