Player Review
Townsend had a good couple days at the FBU TOP GUN Camp in South Carolina this past July. He is a very athletic Long Snapper that leaves no doubt he will be a factor on the punt coverage team in HS and beyond. Strong Long Snapper with very good upside. Making sure he is leading with his elbows will create more whip and speed on the ball to get him well under .75 on a 15 yard snap to the punter. POTENTIAL.Townsend was very solid at the Rubio Long Snapping VEGAS 30 Event on May 13-14, 2017. Extremely solid athlete that has the ability to play two positions in college if needed. He moves really well on his feet and great on his feet. Left no doubt he is an athlete as he crushed the agility station. His hands are quick out of the gate and his ball will increase in speed if he learns to whip his elbows through. Smooth overall snapper that will be as good as he wants to be. Focus on snapping motion will be huge for Townsend to smooth out all of the wrinkles. Upside is great.
